Ms. Linda Darnell Wells, age 66, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 6, 2016 at approximately 9:00 a.m. at St. Rita’s Medical Center.

She was born on January 23, 1950 in Pineville, Louisiana to the union of Robert and Betty Jean (Purdy) Wells; both parents preceded her in death. 

Ms. Wells graduation from Peabody High School in Alexandria, Louisiana in 1968 and received her Bachelor of Science Degree from Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, Tennessee in 2001. 

She accepted Christ at the First Church of God in Christ in Fairbanks, Alaska under Pastor Ivory Thorton.  She was a member of New Life Christian Ministries.  She retired from the United States Army after having served 24 years on active duty.  She was in the Ministry of helps, whenever she saw a need she was there to help in any way she could.  She loved traveling around the world and shopping.

She leaves to cherish her precious memory a son; Terrance C. Vorise (Naomi Ramirez) of Lima.  2 daughters;  LaTamangela D. Jackson (Keithy) of Lima and Briggette D. Bates (Harold) of Pickerington, Ohio.  14 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. 5 brothers; Oliver Wells and Andrew Wells both of  Ada, Oklahoma, Thomas Wells, Ricky Drakes and Robert Drakes and all of Alexandria, Louisiana.  A sister; Cinderella R. Drakes of Alexandria, Louisiana.  A host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death a granddaughter; Linda Darnell Jackson and a brother; Robert M. Wells. 

Home going services will be held on Saturday, August 13, 2016  at  1:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Jones-Clark Funeral Home, Inc.   There will be no visitation.

Interment:  11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at Wesley Chapel Cemetery.
