Thomas E Horrison

Thomas Earl Horrison age 76, transitioned from this life to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 7, 2020 at 12:45 a.m.  He was born June 24, 1943 in Cave Springs, Alabama to the late Ulyses and Mariah Horrison. 

Thomas was a graduate of Leighton Training School Class of 1962, where he starred in both football and basketball. He began working as a young man, driving school buses and working at Helen Keller Hospital.  He moved to Lima, Ohio in 1963 where he began his career at General Motors and retired as a Supervisor in 1998.  After retirement he was self-employed as a driver for Horrison Trucking. 

Thomas accepted Christ at an early age and was a faithful member of the Philippian Missionary Baptist Church, until his illness prevented him from attending.  He served in the Fidelity Choir and he was on both the Deacon and Trustee Board.  He also served as a Layman in the Lima Association.  Thomas enjoyed visiting the sick at various nursing homes throughout Lima, where he and others would encourage the residents through prayers and singing songs of praise.    

Thomas loved to dress in nice clothing and drive nice cars.  He also enjoyed riding his motorcycle, until he was injured in an automobile accident. Thomas also enjoyed bowling, gardening, fishing, spending time with family and listening to gospel music, especially the William Brothers,

Thomas was proceeding in death by his parents, Ulyses and Mariah Horrison, two sisters: Ossie Mae Horrison and Ruthie Blanch Nance, two step children:  Carla Anna Jones and Robert Irvin Jones, a niece Shontel Dawson, a nephew Anthony Thompson, sister-n-law Ella Horrison and brother-n-law Paul Ward Sr.

Precious memories will be left to be cherished by his wife of 25 years, Patricia Horrison, two daughters: Alesia Sherese (Robert) McKnight of Dayton Ohio and Sharonica  Yvelle Horrison of Lima OH son: Myron (Sherry) Hughes of Cincinnati Ohio, four step daughters, Jennifer Rosetta Jones of Lima OH, Robyn Ilene Jones of  New Berry Florida, Yolanda Rena’ Newsome of Dayton Ohio and Rhanesha Kelsay Jenkins of Cincinnati Ohio, two step sons Henry Lee (LaShawna) Jenkins Jr. of San Antonio TX and Christopher Charles (Kylie) Jenkins of Lima Ohio, three sisters: Susie (Rev. Bill) Little of Madison Alabama, Magie Thompson-Ward,  and Rev. Joyce (Pastor Robert) Curtis, both of Lima Ohio, five brothers: Ulysses Horrison of Springhope North Carolina, Robert (Bernice) Horrison, Abron (Mildred) Horrison, Arthur Roger Horrison, Joe  Edward (Veronica) Horrison, all of Lima OH, fifthteen grandchildren, church mother: Mattie Jones, special friends: Paul Bailey, Howard Burt,  and Freddie Nichols, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Services will be held on Friday, May 15, 2020 at 12:00 at the Chapel of Jones-Clark Funeral Home, Inc. with Rev. Dr. B. Lamont Monford, Sr., officiating.

Visitation/Wake services will be held on Friday, May 15, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. until time of services, also at the Funeral Home.
