Obituary
Ms. Myrtis Dean McClendon, age 78, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, April 24, 2023 in Lima, Ohio. She was born on February 4, 1945 in Grenada, Mississippi to Houston McClendon Sr. and Alma (Harper) McClendon. Both parents preceded her in death.
Myrtis was a member of Elm Street and Auglaize County Church of Christ for many years. Among her many accomplishments, she received a Bachelor of Science Degree from Mississippi Valley State University and a Master’s Degree in Education from the University of Dayton. Myrtis was a dedicated Elementary School Teacher for Lima City Schools for many years.
Myrtis leaves to cherish her precious memory a brother, Houston (Karen) McClendon Jr. of Lima, OH; 2 aunts, Marie Harris and Eunice Tyler both of IL along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her brother, James McClendon; a sister, Patsy Harris; and a brother in-law, Charley Harris.
