Lexaville Harris, Jr.

Lexaville Harris, Jr., age 87, passed from this life on Tuesday, May 10, 2022 at approximately 1:31 p.m. at his residence in Lima, Ohio.

He was born on October 18, 1934 in Lima, Ohio to Lexaville Harris, Sr. and Gladys (Williamson) Harris.  His parents preceded him in death.

On October 27, 2013 he was united in holy matrimony to Shirley E. Garner, who survives in Lima.

He was a member of Fourth Street Baptist Church in Lima.  He is a United States Veteran and a member of the Eagles Lodge.  Lexaville was an avid bowler and bowled on the 20th Century’s Friday morning Industrial League until his health failed.  

He leaves to cherish his precious memory 2 sons; Anthony D. Harris of Lima, Ohio and Douglas (Patty) Harris of Florida.  5 daughters; Gladys M. (Barry) Jackson of Columbus, Ohio; Valerie D. Jenkins of Dayton, Ohio; Tuneka (John, Jr.) Wright of Findlay, Ohio; Monica C. Brown of Delphos, Ohio; and Kelli N. Garner of Lima, Ohio.  17 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.  1 brother; Richard C. (Rebecca) Harris of Lima, Ohio.  2 sisters; Margaret Jones of North Carolina and Geneva Harris of Nevada.  A special niece, Yolanda Harleston and a special nephew, John Gwinn.  A host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by a grandchild and 2 brothers.

Home going services will be held on Wednesday, May 18, 2022 at 12:00 p.m. at Fourth Street Missionary Baptist Church with Rev Earnest Stephens, officiating.

Interment: Woodlawn Cemetery
