Jerry Willis Jones III

Mr. Jerry Willis Jones III, age 89, went into the warm embrace of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, March 20, 2023. He was born in Griffin, Georgia on September 5, 1933 to Jerry Willis Jones II and Mary (Phillips) Jones. Both parents preceded him in death.

Jerry was as a life member of St. Paul African Methodist Episcopal Church and avid supporter of all Lima Senior High School Athletics. He loved the lord and was very active in his community. He served his country in the United States Air Force while also obtaining membership in local organizations. He was a member of the U.A.W Local 1219, American Legion #96, Samuel W. Clark Lodge #67, Shriners, 33 Degree Mason, Sovereign Grand Inspector, Knight Templar, Royal Select, Burning Bush, Consistory and Council of Deliberation. 

After his time in the military Jerry continued to be hard worker. He worked for Ford Motor Company as a Quality Control Manager for over 40 years. He was also a valuable part of the Jones-Clark Funeral Home staff. Jerry’s kindness, impeccable service and overall presence will be greatly missed by all who loved him.

Jerry leaves to cherish his precious memories his 4 nephews: Bruce A. Patrick, Greg L. Patrick both of Lima, OH, Wendell Thomas of Chicago, IL and Michael A. (Carmen) Jones of Lima, OH; 4 nieces: Jeanine T. Jones, Michelle Jones both of Huber Heights, OH, Alicia D. (Greg) Anderson of Lima, OH and Denelle (Steve) Eads of Charlotte, NC; longtime friend, Dr. Patricia Freeman of Lima, OH along with a host of great-nieces, great-nephews, and other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by 5 brothers: Orlando Jones, John Jones, Robert O. Jones, Marvin Jones and Phillip Jones; 2 sisters: Rosie Patrick and Evelyn Thomas.
