Gerald Simpson

Mr. Gerald Simpson, age 82, a devoted husband, beloved father, loving grandfather and friend of many – transitioned from this life on Monday, May 15, 2023. He was born in Eunice, Louisiana on October 20, 1940 to Gabriel Simpson and Mary (Barker) Simpson. Both parents preceded him in death.

He married the love of his life Linda Rougeau on August 2, 1975. The two were blissfully married for 47 years and share 5 children together. His wife survives in Lima, OH.

Gerald served his country in the United States Army. He also worked for Monsanto Plastics and Continental Plastics for many years. Gerald loved his family fiercely and he will be deeply missed by all who loved him most.

In addition to his loving wife, Gerald leaves to cherish his precious memories, 5 daughters: Germaine Simpson of Eunice, LA, Chamekia Doublin of El Paso, TX, Marissa Simpson of Savannah, GA, NaTasha Simpson and Gerrica Simpson both of Lima, OH; a brother, Lawrence (LouAnna) Simpson of Mamou, LA; a sister Sarah Williams of Port Arthur, TX; 14 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by a grandchild, Gerund Simpson; 5 brothers: Lester Simpson, Gabriel Simpson Jr. James Simpson, Earl T. Simpson and Luscious Simpson; 4 sisters: Claudia Pickney, Gertrude Freeman, Ella M. Jones and Ruby N. Simpson.
