Elton Stanley Jr Obituary

Elton Elvan 'Link' Stanley, age 52, passed from this life on Wednesday, January 25, 2023. He was born March 11, 1970 in Christiansted, St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands. He attended Ricardo Richards Elementary School where he then graduated and went to John Woodson Jr. High School and finally as a senior he graduated from Central High School. He worked as a Crane Operator and worked in Operations in HES. He came to the States in 1989 and found his way to Lima, Ohio by way of our Uncle Pete. Throughout his life he generally lived as a carpenter taking on various odd jobs helping out others wherever he could.

He attended Wesleyan Holiness Church in his youth. In his adult years, he became the church; giving his interpretations and knowledge of the Bible to whomever would receive it. Link is a very intelligent man who also spoke many languages: English, Spanish, 'patois', and the language everyone can relate to--laughter. He always had something funny to say even in serious situations because the truth shrouded in a joke would always lighten the mood and help whomever see things from a different perspective. He is quick-witted with a silver tongue that could cut a diamond. He is easy to talk to about anything and you would never feel judged and he would have a piece of advice based on his life experiences. He is a handsome, fly-guy who always had to have the best version of whatever he put on his body with a Brooklyn swag. He loved his music (you could tell by the loudspeakers he kept), playing video games, watching anime, reading and writing (especially poetry), singing and dancing, but above ALL else he loved each and every one of his children whether we were together or not. Whether his children realized it or not, we each fostered a love of the same things as he did. One of his greatest wishes was for all of us to get together on any given holiday and just be with each other and he wanted to be able to provide a safe space for our gatherings. There is so much more we could say, but for now, "We love and miss you dad, so please continue to love and watch over us as we live, carrying your spirit with us always."

He is now survived by his great grandmother, Edith Elaine Francis; mother, Kathleen Elaine Francis; 3 sisters: Kathy Elaine Stanley, LeAndra Stanley, and Shemika Stanley; his father Elton Elvan Stanley Sr.; 3 brothers: Dave Francis, Elton E. Stanley III, and Tony Francis; some of his nieces and nephews: Anasia Francis, Khalime St. Brice, Khalid Jean-Baptiste and a slew of brothers, sisters, nieces & nephews (great), and friends that will greatly miss his presence; his children: Inasia Sheniqua Stanley, Keeyan LeJuan Stanley (Rhonda), Keanu Kobe Stanley (Pauline), Kylie Stanley, Allan Killian Stanley (Karen), Ashlynn Lena Stanley, Aria Aadyn Stanley, Ashton Charles Stanley, and Amari Jade Stanley (Ashley).

Special thanks to Elton Stanley Sr. Inasia Stanley, and Keeyan Stanley.
