Mrs. Yvonne Marie Downton, age 75, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, November 30, 2015 at approximately 1:54 p.m. at Lima Memorial Health System.

She was born on June 10, 1940 in St. Louis, Missouri to the union of Julius and Verdie Mae Robinson Stubblefield; both parents preceded her in death.

On June 6, 1969 she was united in holy matrimony to Mr. James D. Downton, who preceded her in death on August 17, 2005.

Mrs. Downton retired from both the Dana Corporation and Lochaven Nursing Home.  She was a member of Philippian Missionary Baptist Church where she was a member of the usher board.  She was also a member of the V.F.W. Post 1911 Ladies Auxiliary.

She leaves to cherish her precious memory 2 sons; Julius E. Kirkman and Dwayne A. Kirkman both of Lima.  4 daughters;  Stephanie Gerton (Robert) of  Syracuse, NY.  Marcella R. Liles (Lindsey), M. Renee Kirkman-Bagley and Shelley D. Downton (Earl) all of Lima.  17 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren.  3 brothers; Lee Stubblefield (Jacqueline) of Lima.  Joe Stubblefield (Avis) of Seattle, Washington and Lawrence Stubblefield (Janice) of St. Louis, MO.  4 sisters; Nancy Stubblefield and Ollie Stubblefield both of Detroit, MI.  Christine Banks of Lima.  Velah Jacobs (William) of Dayton, Ohio.  A host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by 2 sons; William B. Downton and Mark Downton.  A sister; Julia Coleman.

Home going services will be held on Monday, December 7, 2015 at  1:00 p.m. at Philippian Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. B. LaMont Monford, Sr., officiating.

Visitation/Wake services will be held on Sunday, December 6, 2015 at 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. where the family will be present from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Jones-Clark Funeral Home, Inc.

Interment:  Memorial Park Cemetery
