Obituary of William "Billy" Russell Phillips

William "Billy" Russell Phillips, age 75, passed away on Thursday, February 22, 2024, at 10:40 p.m. at Kindred Hospital in Lima, Ohio.  He was born on January 10, 1949, to Willard Floyd and Mary Louise (King) Phillips in Russellville, Alabama.  His parents preceded him in death.  On October 16, 1972, he married Ida Lou Foster.  She survives in Lima, Ohio.

William retired from BP Chemical as a chief chemical operator.  He helped start the Lima Panthers football team and coached baseball for many years.

He leaves to cherish his memory, 3 sons:  Corey D. (Dr. Danielle) Foster; Shawn J. (Jodi) Foster; and Shane J. Foster.  All of Lima, Ohio, and 1 daughter:  Sedeka E. (Rico) Williams of Michigan.  1 brother: Clifton Phillips of Lima, Ohio, and 1 sister: Christine Seally of Alabama.  17 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.  A long time friend, Mort (Karen) Gray of Lima, Ohio.  4 sisters-in-law: Betty Henry; Gloria Reeder; Lula Reeder, and Charlotte (Joe Jones) Moore, all of Lima, Ohio.  A host of other family members and friends.

He is preceded in death by a great-grandchild and 1 brother, Floyd Phillips.

Home Going Services will be held on Thursday, February 29, 2024, at 12:00 p.m. at Jones-Clark Funeral Home, Inc.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 29, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. also at the Funeral Home.

Interment:  Woodlawn Cemetery
