Mr. Boddie was born on January 31, 1945 in Florence, Alabama to the union of John William and Ella Mae Armstead Boddie. Both parents preceded him in death.
On July 23, 1982 he was united in holy matrimony to Joyce A. Williams, she survives in Lima.
Mr. Boddie retired from General Motors Corporation after 45 years of service. He was a member of Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church. He was a member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary 1911 and U.A.W. Local Union 211.
Besides his loving wife Joyce, he leaves to cherish his precious memory 2 daughters; Gwendolyn L. Upshaw (Lamark) of Lima and Wanda A. Asher of Florence, AL. 2 sons; George Asher and Renadus Perkins both Florence, AL. A sister; Annie R. Boddie of Florence, AL. 5 grandchildren; Dajaun Upshaw, Damarkus Upshaw, Delquan Williams, Crystina Asher and Kaylon Simpson. 3 great-grandchildren; Damari Upshaw, Damiya Upshaw and Makaila Robinson. 2 special cousins; Shirley Nance and Lizzie M. Lott.
He was preceded in death by a daughter; Kiva K. Williams and a grandson; Da'Vontae K. Williams who was killed Friday in a car accident here in Lima and a sister; Ella L. Thompson.
Home going services will be held on Tuesday, August 5, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Arnold Manley, officiating.
Visitation/Wake services will be held on Monday, August 4, 2014 at Jones-Clark Funeral Home, Inc. from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. where the family will be present from 6:00 to 8:00 p
