Mr. Wilder Strong, Sr., age 75, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at approximately 5:42 p.m. at St. Rita's Medical Center.
Mr. Strong was born on February 2, 1939 in Huntsville, Alabama to the union of Earl and Ruby Battle Strong, Sr. Both parents preceded him in death.
He retired from Dana Corporation and was a veteran of the United States Army. He was a member of Second Baptist Church and a member of Local UAW Union 1948.
He leaves to cherish his precious memory, 2 sons; Wilder Strong, Jr. and Earl Strong (Shelly) both of Lima. 4 daughters; Lorraine Strong, Lisa Strong, Patricia Strong and Jackie Thompson (Curtis) all of Lima. 4 stepsons; Martin Seay (Janet) and Michael Seay both of Toledo. Larry Seay of Columbus, OH and Labarron Ulmer of Decatur, GA. 3 step-daughters; Vanessa Chatman of Detroit, MI, Dorethea Obrient and Diane Seay both of Toledo, OH. 12 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. 4 brothers: Earl Strong, Jr. of Nashville, TN. Robert Strong (Glenise) and Rev. James Strong (Mary) both of Huntsville, AL. Roosevelt Strong (Dorothy) of Harvest, AL. A sister; Willie Mae Ford (Jerry) of Huntsville, AL. A host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by 2 sisters; Eula Mae Owens and Dorothy A. Battle.
Services will be held at Second Baptist Church on Friday, February 6, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Dr. Dennis Ward, officiating.
