Rev. Thomas Eugene Downton, age 70, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, August 8, 2014 at 8:07 p.m. at St. Rita's Medical Center surrounded by his loved ones.

Rev. Downton was born on February 24, 1944 in Lima, Ohio to the union of Harry Milton and Elizabeth Ann Dansby Downton, Sr.  Both parents preceded him in death.

Rev. Downton worked at the Lima Correctional Institution as a correctional officer; he was a member of New Life Christian Ministries.

He leaves to cherish his precious memory a daughter; Karinda J. McLemore (Charles) of Columbus, Ohio.  Five grandchildren.  Two sisters;  Gloria L. Reeder (Robert) and Diana E. Fleischmann both of Lima.  Nine brothers;  Harry M. Downton, Jr., Michael D. Downton (Barbara), Terry A. Downton, Randy K. Downton, Ferris J. Downton, Branson S. Downton, Brian M. Downton (Tina) and Joseph Downton (Tammy) all of Lima.  Shayne Downton (Donna) of Columbus, Ohio.  A   Goddaughter; Marilyn Brown Williams of Columbus, Ohio.  A host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by a son; Marcus Downton and a sister;  Marcia Y. Townsend.
