Roger Lee Morris Obituary

Roger Lee Morris, age 66, passed away at 8:17 a.m. on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, at The Springs of Lima, Lima, OH.  He was born on November 13, 1957, in Lima, Ohio to Lewis Turner and Alice Louise (Simpson) Morris.  Both parents preceded him in death.

Roger was a licensed Master Barber.  He attended Indiana University and graduated from the Atlanta Barber Institute.  He was a member of Second Baptist Church and truly loved the Lord.  Roger enjoyed gardening.  He loved his family and friends.  He was always ready to help neighbors and all.

He leaves to cherish his memory:  2 sons:  Roderick Morris of TN and Quentez Markese Thomas, Sr. of Columbus, OH.  1 daughter:  Rhonda Morris of TN.  2 brothers:  Michael (Josette) Morris of Atlanta, GA and Jackie Robinson of Lima, OH.  3 sisters:  Deborah L. Morris; Lisa D. (Steven) Horton; and Ivy J. (William) Allen; all of Lima, OH.  3 grandchildren:  Quentez Markese Thomas, Jr.; Taniya Nicole Thomas; and Zion Thomas; all of Columbus, OH.  His stepfather:  William Robinson of Lima, OH.  2 aunts:  ReEsther Orr and Alberta Robinson, both of Lima, OH.  A host of nieces, nephews, and other family members and friends.

Roger is preceded in death by 1 son:  Quentin DeShawn Morris; 1 brother:  Steven L. Morris, Sr.: and 1 sister-in-law:  Angela Elizabeth Morris.

Home Going Services will be held Monday, July 22, 2024, at 12:00 p.m. at Second Street Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Dennis Ward Officiating.

Visitation/Wake services will be held Monday, July 22, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service, also at the church.

Interment:  Woodlawn Cemetery
