Mr. Robert Winfield Davenport, age 87, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at approximately 6:47 p.m. at his residence in Lima surrounded by his loved ones.

He was born on June 25, 1927 in Lima, Ohio to the union of William Edward and Irene Arnold Davenport; both his parents preceded him in death.

On February 22, 1953 he was united in holy matrimony to Alice C. West who survives in Lima. Mr. Davenport retired from Buckeye Rubber as a Press Operator after over 30 years of service.  He enjoyed working on cars in his younger years.  He loved the keyboards and was self-taught.  He loved trains and especially model trains.  He enjoyed educational television and especially the Discovery Channel.  He also loved skating with his entire family.

Besides his loving wife Alice he leaves to cherish his precious memory a son; James E. Davenport (Maureen) of Lima.  3 daughters; Nancy A. Grant (Milton) and Teresa A. Bean (Michael) both of Lima.  Della M. Aydelott (Daniel) of Dayton, Ohio.  10 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.  2 brothers; Paul C. Davenport (Rhea) and Arthur L. Davenport both of Lima.  3 sisters; Barbara J. Davenport, Dorothy I. Brassell and Marjorie C. Johnson (Roy) all of Lima.  A host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by 6 brothers;  Charles E. Davenport, Roland L. Davenport, William K. Davenport, Earnest H. Davenport, Kenneth A. Davenport and David L. Davenport.  5 sisters; Sylvia M. E. Davenport, Vivian I. Bradley, Mary J. Joiner, Lillian L. Mines and Geraldine R.  Davenport
