Mr. Robert Lee Curtis, Sr., age 87, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, July 25, 2014 at approximately 10:45 p.m. at his residence in Lima.

Mr. Curtis was born on May 22, 1927 in Paris, Tennessee to the union of Robert Lee Rhodia Pritchett Curtis, both parents preceded him in death.

On April 16, 1945 he was united in holy matrimony to Lula Mae Thompson who survives in Lima.

Mr. Curtis worked for Randall Bearing Company, General Motors and also the B & O Railroad.  He was a veteran of the United States Army having served in World War II.    He was a member of Philippian Missionary Baptist Church where he was the past president of the Fidelity Chorus.  He was a member of Masonic Order and a former Indian Guide at YMCA.  He was an avid hunter and fisherman and coached youth sports.

Besides his loving wife Lula he leaves to cherish his precious memory five children; Roy C. Johnson (Marjory), Pastor Robert L. Curtis, Jr. (Joyce), Leslie E. Curtis (Cheryl) and Tony D. Curtis (Mary) all of Lima.  David L. Curtis, Sr. (Rosalind) of Jacksonville, Al.  Twelve grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.  A host of nieces, nephews other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by two brothers;  Willie Curtis and James Curtis.  Four sisters;  Faye K. Shakespeare, Mattie Robinson, Neicy Garrard and Annie Curtis

Home going services will be held on Friday, August 1, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. Philippian Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. B. LaMont Monford, Sr., officiating and Rev. Robert L. Curtis, Jr. eulogizing.
