Obituary

Elder Renny Joe "R.J." Tyson, Sr., age 78, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 29, 2014 at approximately 4:38 am. at his residence in Ft. Wayne, Indiana surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on May 15, 1936 in Harlan, Kentucky to the union of Thomas and Pearl Morton Tyson.   Both parents preceded him in death.

On February 16, 1991 he was united in holy matrimony to Vickie Marie Bibbs who survive in Ft. Wayne, IN.

Mr. Tyson retired from General Motors Powertrain in 2001.  He was a veteran of the United States Army and a member of U.A.W. Local 211.  Elder Tyson was a member of Greater Christ Temple Church in Ft. Wayne, IN where he served as an Elder.  He was formerly a member of Grace Church Worldwide Ministries here in Lima.

Besides his loving wife Vickie, he leaves to cherish his precious memory 5 sons;  Renny J. Tyson, Jr (Priscilla), Terry L. Tyson, Kabasa L. Tyson all of Columbus, OH.  Robert Q. Houston of Salt Lake City, Utah and  Dennis Goston of Lima. 1  stepson; Aaron R. D. (Melinda) Henderson, Sr., of Lima.  One daughter; Carla D. Tyson (Tyrone) Majors of Lexington Park, MD.  27 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.  A sister; Tommie L. Rhodman of Lexington, KY.  A host of nieces, nephews others relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by 2 stepsons;  Ivan Williams and Anthony Williams, Jr. 3 sisters;  Clemmie Totty, Leola Walker and Ruby Rembert, 3 brothers; Robert Tyson, Willie Tyson and Edward Tyson.
