Mrs. Queen Esther Gilcrease Jones, age 86, passed this life on Sunday, October 30, 2016 at approximately 6:35 a.m. at her residence in Lima, Ohio surrounded by her loved ones.
Mrs. Jones was born on July 4, 1930 in Jackson, Mississippi to the union of Modest and Nellie (Palmer ) Hodges, both parents are deceased.
On November 29, 1975 she was united in holy matrimony to Mr. Johnnie Jones who preceded her in death on January 24, 1983.
Mrs. Jones retired as a Custodian for the Lima City Schools; she was a member of the Power of Deliverance Church. She loved to go the Church and she loved to fish.
She leaves to cherish her precious memory, 6 sons; Jimmy Gilcrease (Jackie), Larry Gilcrease and Ronnie Gilcrease (Cheryl) all of Lima. James Gilcrease and Roy Gilcrease (Johnnie Mae) both of Columbus, OH and Greg Gilcrease of Milwaukee, WI. 6 daughters; Annie M. McKinney of St. Louis, FL, Sharry Gilcrease, Dawana Gilcrease and Jill Scales all of Lima. Queen Wiley and Diane Kidd (Steven) both of Columbus, OH. 46 grandchildren, 72 great grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren. 2 sisters; Darlene Young (Leroy) of Lima and Liza Jackson of Kokomo, IN. A host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by a son; Barry Gilcrease. A daughter; Mary Davis and 3 sisters; Ethel Davis, Jessie Hodges and Emma Robinson.
Services will be held on Friday, November 4, 2016 at 12:00 p.m. at the Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Cleven Jones, officiating.
Visitation/Wake services will be held on Thursday, November 3, 2016 at the Chapel of Jones-Clark Funeral Home, Inc. from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with the family present from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
