Obituary of Paul William Howell

Paul William Howell, age 82, passed away on Thursday, May 30, 2024, at 7:45 p.m. at his daughter's residence in Columbus, Ohio. He was born on December 25, 1941, to Clarence Howell and Bertha Nesmith Howell in Gainesville, Florida. Both parents preceded him in death.

Paul graduated from Lima Senior High School in 1959. He also attended The Art Institute of Chicago. Paul went on to work at Dana Corporation as a cutter grinder and retired after over 40 years. He served as a medic in the United States Air Force from 1960-1965. Paul was a member of the UAW Union #1765, the American Legion #96, and the Pool League. He enjoyed fishing, loved to cook, listening to music, watching sports, especially the Cleveland Browns, playing pool, playing the lottery, and going to the casino. Paul also had a special love for his cars. He enjoyed spending time with family as well.

He leaves to cherish his memory, 3 daughters: Sophia E. Howell of Lima, OH; Latoya L. Howell (Ira) of Columbus, OH; and Mildred R. Peters of Austin, TX.  1 brother:  Clarence (Valerie) Howell, Jr. of Lima, OH.  2 sisters:  Lynetta Moss of Lima, OH, and Gwendolyn (Curtis) Brown of Fort Wayne, IN. 6 grandchildren: Shalamar Howell, Naudia Spivey, Jazz Howell, Lanijah Spivey, Martajia McHaney, and Martavius McHaney. 3 great-grandchildren: Izehiah Howell, Jamal Gurley Jr., and Indie Gurley. A special friend:  Jennifer Jackson. A host of nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

He is preceded in death by a son: Anthony R. "Beefy" Howell; and his grandmother: Lula Williams.

Home Going Services will be held on Thursday, June 6, 2024, at 12:00 p.m. at Grace Church Worldwide Ministries with Pastor Julius Laws officiating.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 5, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with the family present from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Jones-Clark Funeral Home.

Interment: Dayton National Cemetery
