Obituary

Mr. Otis Rogers Jr., affectionately known as “Junior Rogers,” age 92, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 27, 2026, at 9:11 a.m. at his residence.

Junior Rogers was born on July 6, 1934, in Donalsonville, Georgia, to Otis Rogers and Leana Black Rogers (Eddie Daniels), who preceded him in death.

Junior dedicated more than 30 years of his life to General Motors, where he worked faithfully as a welder. He was also a member of Friendship Baptist Church.

In his free time, Junior could often be found fishing, gardening, riding his motorcycle, spending time with his family, and, most of all, saving a dollar. He was known as a hardworking man, a man of his word, and someone who valued his family and the simple things in life.

Junior leaves to cherish his loving memory, his loving and caring daughter, Rinea Rogers of Lima, Ohio; and three sons, Earl Thomlinson, Arthur Rogers, and Jason McIntosh, all of Lima, Ohio. He also leaves eight grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.

He is also survived by his siblings, Terry Daniels, Wilford Daniels, Magnolia Causby, Eddy May, and Anna Louis; as well as his two best friends, Craig McDonald and Bobby Shepard.

In addition to his parents, Junior was preceded in death by his two sons, Curtis “Paul” Rogers and Craig Rogers; one grandson, Earl Johnson; and one brother, Curtis Carr.

Junior’s life was one of hard work, perseverance, family, and friendship. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him. His memory will continue to live on through his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, siblings, friends, and all whose lives he touched.

Services for Mr. Otis “Junior” Rogers Jr. will be held on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, at Jones-Clark Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Paul Johnson officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m., with funeral services beginning at 12:00 noon.

Services entrusted to: JONES-CLARK FUNERAL HOME, INC.
