Mr. Nathaniel Yates, age 84, passed from this life on Saturday, April 6, 2024 at approximately 5:55 a.m. at Lost Creek Nursing Home in Lima, Ohio.  He was born on February 8, 1940 in Grenada, Mississippi to Plumus and Clytee Rose Yates; both parents preceded him in death.

In 1967 he was united in holy matrimony to Delores Costello Cotton, she preceded him in death on December 24, 2020.

Nathaniel was a jokester; he loved to reminisce and always had a story to tell.  He worked at Ford Motor Company for over 30 years.  He was a member of Kibby Street Church of Christ for 25 years.

He leaves to cherish his precious memory 3 sisters; Irene Willis, Lenora Yates and Agnes Yates all of California.   A granddaughter; Morgan Yates of Lima.  Children; Bill Dunbar, Anna Jones, Jessie Dunbar, Mark Dunbar, Larry Dunbar and Lillie Greer.  29 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.  A host of nieces, nephew's other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by daughters; Beverly Rene Yates and Marsha Jean Dunbar and a grandchild; Schakia Yates. Siblings; Frankie Yates, Fannie Lee Johnson, L.W. Yates, Annie Ruth Yates,  Lum Ross, Jack Yates and Robert Earl Yates.

Home Going Services will be held Tuesday, April 16, 2024 at 12:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Jones-Clark Funeral Home, Inc. with Rev. Raymond Sweet, officiating.

Visitation/Wake will be held on Tuesday, April 16, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. until time of services also at the funeral home.

Interment:  Memorial Park Cemetery
