Mrs. Mila Conway, age 92, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 5, 2014 at approximately 10:15 p.m. at her home surrounded by her loved ones.

She was born on September 27, 1921 in Town Creek, Alabama to the union of John and Annie Goodwin Carter, both parents preceded her in death.

On January 9, 1943 she he was united in holy matrimony to Mr. Fred Conway, Sr., he preceded her in death on December 7, 2001.

Mrs. Conway worked in private homes as a Domestic; she was a member of Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church where she was on the Mother's Board and the kitchen committee. She was also a former member of the Busy Bee Club.   She was the grandmother to every child in the neighborhood and is the oldest resident of Greenfield, Heights.

She leaves to cherish her precious memory a son; Fred Conway, Jr. (Anita) of Dayton, Ohio.  A daughter;  Annie J. Townsend (Richard) of Lima.  Four grandchildren; Geraldine Pegues, (Kendall), Cheryl Jones (Jeffery), Aleckia Townsend and Richard Townsend, Jr.  4 great-grandchildren. Two brothers; Charles Carter of Tuscumbia, AL and Benjamin Carter of Lima. A sister;  Lizzie Carter of Louisville, Kentucky.  A host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by 4 brothers; John Carter, George Carter, Wallace Carter and James Carter and a  sister;  Ruth Carter.

Home Going services will be held on Thursday, April 10, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Dr.  H. Frank Taylor, III, officiating.

Visitation/Wake services will be held on Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at Jones-Clark Funeral Home, Inc.  4:00 to 8:00 p.m. where the family will be present from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Interment will be held on Saturday, April 12, 2014 at Jones Cemetery, in Town Creek, Alabama.
