Mr. Michael "Mike" Smith, Sr., age 62, passed from this life on Sunday, July 5, 2015 at approximately 12:45 a.m. at his residence.

He was born on July 5, 1953 in Lima, Ohio to the union of Charlie and Bertha Mae Manley Smith.  His father is deceased and his mother survives in Lima.

He retired from the transport department at St. Rita's Medical Center.  He was a member of New Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church.  He was saved in August of 1994 under the leadership of Pastor C.M. Manley.  Michael was a former member of the Black Panther Party and he loved his old school music.

Besides his loving mother; Bertha Mae Manley Smith he leaves to cherish his precious memory a son; Michael Smith, Jr. of Lima.  3 daughters; Tequila Thomas (Ron) of Ozark, AL.  Erica Collins (Fiancé –Willie) and Makyla Smith both of Lima. Eight grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.  2 brothers;  Edward C. Smith, Sr. and Samuel L. Smith, Sr. both of Lima.  5 sisters;  Vivian Draper (Ronnie) of Toledo, OH.  Deborah Lane, Bernadine Shelby (Larry), Josephine James (Harry) and Gloria Evans (David, Sr.) all of Lima.  A host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by a sister;  Minnie L. Manley.
