Obituary

Michael Wayne Guice, age 67, passed from this life on August 7, 2026, at Lima Memorial Hospital.

Michael was born on February 15, 1959, in Lima, Ohio, at Lima Memorial Hospital to the late Jerry and Patricia (Estelle) Guice, both of whom preceded him in death.

Michael was employed with Allied Universal, where he worked as a security guard. Prior to that, he dedicated many years of service as a correctional officer with Lima Correctional Institution until its closing.

In his free time, Michael enjoyed barbecuing, bowling, listening to music, playing cards, and watching sports. He did not have a favorite team and was known to root for whomever was winning! Michael grew up playing baseball and football. He played in a softball league throughout his adult life. Most of all, Michael was known for keeping everyone laughing with his comedic ways and wonderful sense of humor

Michael leaves to cherish his memory, two sons: Adrian Henderson and Adam Henderson both of Lima, Ohio, four daughters: Janelle Penager, Brittnee Guice, and Patricia Guice, all of Lima, Ohio; and Brandee Guice of Dayton, Ohio. He will also be lovingly remembered by his 13 grandchildren, including Jaidyn, Kaleigha, Levi, Brooklyn, Ayonna, Riley, and Nalaya; and 5 great-grandchildren; his siblings, Anthony (Sharon) Guice, Greg (Cynthia) Jones, and Jason (Brenda) Guice, all of Lima, Ohio, and Kathy (Andrew) Jolivette of Missouri City, Texas; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Alfred and Janie Koger and Olivia and Emmanuel Estelle; his brother, Gerald Guice; uncles, Devlyn Estelle, Emmanuel Estelle, James Estelle, William Guice, Percy Cormier, and Roosevelt Wright; and aunts, Gladys Cormier, Verdell Wright, Gertrude Estelle, and Sadie Estelle.

Memorial Services will be held on Sunday, August 16, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. at Second Baptist Church, with Rev. Dr. Dennis Ward officiating.
