IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Michael Anthony
Brown
August 24, 1958 – November 21, 2024
Michael Anthony Brown, Sr., known to all as Mike, passed away peacefully
on November 21, 2024, at the age of 66 in Phoenix, Arizona.
Mike was born on August 25, 1958, in Lima, Ohio, to Amy Lee Brown and
later moved to Phoenix where he spent most of his adult life. Mike led a life
filled with passion and purpose, marked by his service to his country and
his family. After graduating from Lima Senior High School, he bravely
served in the United States Army, a commitment that spoke volumes about
his courage and sense of duty. Following his military service, Mike found
success and fulfillment in the marketing industry, excelling in a career that
allowed him to showcase his creativity and many talents.
Aside from his professional achievements, Mike had a deep love for music,
particularly the soulful tunes of Earth, Wind & Fire, which always brought a
smile to his face and a funny dance to his steps. He was also a gifted artist,
with a keen eye for detail and a knack for capturing the beauty of the world
around him.
One of Mike's greatest sources of joy was his family. He leaves behind a
legacy of love and devotion, survived by his siblings Julius Dennis McDaniel
Brown (Nashville, TN and his children), Bruce Edward Brown (Dallas, TX)
and Sheryl LaJoyce Brown (Atlanta, GA and her son Tony Maurice Betton,
Jr.); his two sons Michael Anthony Brown, Jr. (Columbus, OH) and Sean
Brown (Lima, OH); as well as his cherished grandchildren, Chinise Brown
(granddaughter) of St. Louis, MO, I'Lei Brown, (granddaughter), Mikayah
Butler (granddaughter) and Myheir Brown (grandson) of Columbus, OH;
special cousin Sandria Brown-Jeter of Detroit, MI (and her children Byron
Parsons, Kaytlyn Gunn & Saquari Jeter); and a host of other relatives and
many friends.
Mike was preceded in death by his mother Amy Lee Brown-Hillman and
step-father Bernie Hillman.
Mike's magnetic personality and infectious laughter touched the hearts of
all who knew him, and his memory will forever be treasured by those who
were fortunate enough to be a part of his life.
A celebration of Mike's life will be held at the Jones-Clark Funeral Home in
Lima, Ohio on Friday, March 21st at 3:00pm. As we bid farewell to a
beloved son, father, brother, uncle, grandfather, and friend, let us
remember the laughter, the love, and the light he brought into the world.
Mike will be deeply missed but never forgotten, as the memories of his
kindness and laughter live on in the hearts of those who knew him best.
Rest in peace, Mike, until we meet again.
