Mrs. Maxine Johnson, age 73, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 22, 2017 at approximately 8:56 a.m. at St. Rita's Medical Center in Lima.

She was born on March 13, 1943 in Florence, Alabama to Thomas Edward and Mattie (Hardison) Vann; both parents preceded her in death.

On April 2, 1958 she was united in Holy Matrimony to Cecil C. Johnson, he preceded her in death on December 9, 1995.

Mrs. Johnson worked at Buckeye Furniture; she was co-owner of Johnson & Hughes Excavating and Cecil's BAR-B-Q PIT. She was a member of Bible Believers Church.

She leaves to cherish her precious memory 5 sons:  James E. Johnson (Juliet), Thomas R. Johnson, Clyde R. Johnson and Tyrone D. Johnson (Rochelle) all of Lima, OH.  And Clifton H. Johnson (Rosa) of Chesterfield, VA.  3 daughters; Brenda G. Cross (Daniel), Viola DeBerry (David, Sr.) and Gloria M. Johnson all of Lima, OH. 23 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, and a sister; Melvalee Hardison of Akron, Ohio.

She was preceded in death by a sister; Aline Hardison, and a brother; Robert Vann.

Home going services will be held on Saturday, January 28, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Bible Believers Church, 3500 Spencerville Road, Lima, OH, with Brother Craig, officiating.

Visitation/Wake services will be held on Friday, January 27, 2017 at Bible Believers Church from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with the family being present from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
