Mrs. Johnson was a member of the Church of the Living God, she previous worked at Ford Motor Company and Lima Convalescent Home.

She  leaves to cherish her precious memory a son; Darrell Newby and a daughter; Dana Newby, both of Columbus, Ohio.  10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. 3 brothers; Adrian Gaines of Springfield, OH. Fairlond Hayes and William French both of San Diego, CA.  5 sisters; Joyce Hayes and Crystal Wingo both of Columbus, OH.  Niecy Gaines and Violet French both of San Diego, CA.  Bonnie French of Springfield, OH.  A host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death 3 brothers; Kenny Gaines, Fairest Hayes, Jr. and Stevie Hayes who passed away one day after Mary.  3 sisters;  Marlishia Mozee, Tommie Elise Mozee and Rolina Nicholes.

Visitation/Wake will be held on Tuesday October 2, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with the family present from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Jones-Clark Funeral Home, Inc.

Home going services will be held Thursday, October 4, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Covenant United Methodist Church, 529 West Johnny Ltyle Avenue,Springfield, OH  45506
