IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Marva Adreona
Cowan
January 13, 1962 – February 9, 2025
Mrs. Marva Adreona Cowan, age 63, passed from this life on Sunday, February 9, 2025 at approximately 9:05 a.m. at her residence in Lima, OH.
She was born on January 13, 1962 in Lima, Ohio to John Gladen and Deloris Locke. Her Mother survives in Lima and her father preceded her in death.
On May 20, 2000 she was united in holy matrimony to Larry E. Cowan who survives in Lima.
Marva attended Lima Senior High School and later went on to earn an Associate degree, Bachelor's degree and a Master's of Business Administration. In 2019, after more than 20 years of service, she retired from her role as Director of Intake and Community Programs at Lima Allen Council on Community Affairs (LACCA). During her tenure at LACCA she not only helped countless Lima families thrive, through the various programs she led, she also positively impacted her colleagues, both internal and external to LACCA. Over the years many people have admired and been inspired by her dedication and determination to take on and overcome challenges. Her time there was meaningful to her because she had a passion for helping people learn, grow and thrive. In addition to her career at LACCA and beyond, she served as a member on the Allen County Board of Health and has been a true pillar in her community. Marva was a bright light in any room, you may not see her coming or going but you will always know she's there. She valued and enjoyed time with her family, from weekly Sunday dinners after church to having a "Girlfriends Day" with her daughters. Over the years she has been a trusted advisor, confidante and wise counsel for many people in her family and community. She was rooted in her faith and brought others along on the journey of being in relationship with God. Now He has called her home, heaven couldn't wait for her. She will truly be missed.
