Ms. Marva Nita Allen, born on June 18, 1956 in Lima, Ohio passed away peacefully on November 15, 2025 in Columbus, Ohio. She was 69 years old.
Marva was the daughter of the to the Late James C. Allen, Sr., and Georgia E. Newsome, she grew up in Lima and attended Lima Central Catholic High School, where she began laying the foundation for a life marked with curiosity connection and care. She later pursued higher education at Bowling Green University, majoring in business management field that reflected her sharp mind and organizational talents.
A lifelong learner and passionate communicator, Marva had a gift for conversation. Her love of talking was matched only be her love of reading and traveling. Whether exploring new places or diving into the pages of a good book, she embraced every opportunity to expand her world and connect with others.
Marva's devotion to family was unwavering. She found immense joy in tracing her roots through genealogy and took pride in sharing stories that connected generations. Her warmth extended especially to children she adored babies and cherished time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchild.
She was a long-time member of St. Paul AME Church, where she joined at an early age. Her faith remained a guiding force throughout her life.
Marva is lovingly remembered by her children; Dr. Paula Allen of Lima, Ohio and Nikki Allen of Detroit, Michigan; her five grandchildren; Destine`, Xavier, Demaree and Kharis Allen all of Columbus, Ohio and Zhane` Robinson of Detroit, Michigan. Great granddaughter; Denim Allen of Columbus. Brothers; James D. Allen (Helen) and Monte I. Allen (Monique). 2 bonus daughters; Teresa Williams of Lima and Dr. LaNina Hill-Dorchy of Lake City, Florida, a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister Elizabeth Allen; and other loved ones who now welcome her home.
Known for always being well-dressed and carrying herself with grace and confidence, Marva brought light into every room she entered. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who know her best. May her legacy bring comfort to all who mourn her passing and inspiration to those who carry forward the values she held dear.
A Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on November 26, 2025 at St. Paul A.M. E Church in Lima, Ohio with Rev. Tracy L. Cross officiating and Rev. Stephanie Ransom, eulogizing.Interment: Woodlawn Cemetery, Lima, OH
