Mr. Marlon Ra`shon "Bird" Godsey, Sr., age 34, passed from this life Monday, November 8, 2021   at approximately 7:08 a.m. at St. Rita's Medical Center in Lima.

He was born on April 28, 1987 in Lima, Ohio to Mark Adam White and Kimberly Dawn Godsey.  Both parents survive in Lima.

Marlon worked as a Welder at International Tank Service.  He attended Philippian Missionary Baptist Church.

He was married to Alexus Motley of Lima.

Besides his loving parents he leaves to cherish his precious memory 6 sons; Marshawn Godsey, Maurion Godsey, Marlon Godsey, Jr., of Houston, TX. Monte Godsey, Marlo Godsey and Myleo Godsey all of Lima.  A daughter; Jenna Motley of Brooklyn, NY.  8 brothers; Mark Honer and Dontae Martin both of Ft. Wayne, IN.  Darick Steward, Jr. (Emily) of Sidney, OH.  Martrevus Godsey, (Michelle), Shawn Pettaway, Rory Lawrence all of Lima. Matthew  Flores of Dallas, TX.  Dathan Lyles of Columbus, OH. 6 sisters; Shanelle DeMaris (Matt) of Cincinnati, OH.  Amber Hurley (Rodney) of Lima.  Lameshia Godsey, Chazzmin White, Chassidy Bullock and Victoria Holbrook Phillips. Maternal Grandfather; James "Sonny" Bates of Ft. Wayne, IN.  A host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by a sister; Izzabella Holbrook Phillips. Maternal grandmother; Shirley Godsey.  Paternal grandmother; Almeda Mourning.

Home going services will be held on Friday, November 19, 2021 at 12:00 p.m. at Grace Church Worldwide Ministries, with Rev. Bruce Monford, officiating.

Visitation/Wake will be held on Friday, November 19, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. until time of services at 12:00 p.m. also at the Church.

Interment:  Woodlawn  Cemetery
