Mrs. Marian (Shane) Carter went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at approximately 8:39 am at Lima memorial Health Systems.

She was born in Carpenter, Mississippi on August 12, 1945 K.C. and Velma Craft Bradley; both parents preceded her in death.

On June 21, 1995 she was united in holy matrimony to John D. Carter, Jr. who survives in Lima.

Mrs. Carter was a Homemaker, she was a member of Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church where she was the assistant treasurer, she also served as Church Trustee and was on the Nurse's Aide and Kitchen Committee. She was willingly to help out wherever she was needed at the Church.

Besides her loving husband John she also leaves to cherish her precious memories two sons John A. Savage, Jr., of Lima, and David Heard, of Chicago, IL.  A daughter Tracy Carter of Lima and six grandchildren. A brother William Bradley (Marian) of Louisville, Ky. Four sister, sisters Vera J. Bell of Gardenia, California, Lillian (Surg) Logan of Lima, Dorothy L. Patterson and Yolanda V. Young of Louisville, Ky.  She leaves a host of nieces, nephew and friends. One god-child Ruth Curtis and six special friends Mary Collins, Jeanette Grant, Verdell Smith, Mary Jones, Millie Pitts and Letha Walton.

She was preceded in death by one sister; Elizabeth Norman and her in-laws Rev. and Mrs. White and John D. Carter, Sr.

Marian loved the Lord, her family and her church family. She was a people person, met no strangers and was always willing to help others.  She would lend a helping hand to anyone that needed it even when she was in pain. She will be greatly missed by all that came in contact with her. She was a very loving person and was a mother figure to so many children.

Home going services will be held on Wednesday, August 27, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Robert Curtis, Jr., officiating.

Visitation/Wake Services will be held on Tuesday, August 26, 2014 at Jones-Clark Funeral Home, Inc from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. where the family will be present from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
