Major Amerson, Jr., age 74, passed from this life on Sunday, February 6, 2022 at approximately 2:40 a.m. at St. Rita's Medical Center.
He was born on April 8, 1947 in Lima, Ohio to the union of Rev. Major and Rosa Bell (Felmon) Amerson, Sr.; both parents preceded him in death.
On September 27, 1967 he was untied in holy matrimony to Kathleen Watkins, she survives in Lima, Ohio.
Mr. Amerson retired from Ford Motor Company. He was a veteran of the United States Army and a member of Providence Missionary Baptist Church where he serviced as a Church Trustee. He drove buses for Buckeye Charter for 15 years and was the owner of Major's Photography.
Besides his loving wife Kathleen he leaves to cherish his precious memory 2 sons; Major J. Amerson (Alyson) of Lima and Martese J. Amerson (Anna) of Chicago, IL. 7 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. 4 sisters; Margaret Jenkins of Killen, TX. Geraldine Spivey and Patsy Henderson both of Lima. Rosetta Amerson of Columbus, Ohio. A host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by a son; Marcus J. Amerson. 3 sisters; Katherine Lindsey, Helen Hall and Loretta Tolbert.
Services will be held on Monday, February 14, 2022 at 12:00 p.m. at the Lima Civic and Convention Center with Rev. Dr. B. LaMont Monford, Sr., officiating and Rev. Dr. A. L. Butler, eulogizing.
Visitation/Wake services will be held on Monday, February 14, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. until time of services also at the Civic Center.
Interment - Memorial Park Cemetery
