Mrs. Lucy Bell Smith, age 82, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 11, 2014 at approximately 6:10 p.m.at Baton Rouge Health Services Community.

She was born on May 2, 1931 in Rutherford, Alabama to the union of Vandy and Martha Ann Dillard Cole, both parents preceded her in death.

She was married to Daniel Smith in 1962, who preceded her in death on May 15, 1973.

She retired from Lima Memorial Hospital after 41 years of service in the housekeeping department.  She was a member of New Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church where she was a member of the Mothers Board and she also served on the Usher Board.

She leaves to cherish her precious memory a God Daughter, Patricia Horrison (Thomas)  of Lima. A uncle, Cullen Dillard of Lima.  A host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by three brothers:  Mack Peterson, Sr., Free Cole and Eddie Peterson.  Three sisters:  Elizabeth Wiley, Effie Rogers and Lillie Bell Anderson.
