Mrs. Lora Belle Ward Houston, age 91, went home to be with the Lord on January 15, 2022 at approximately 11:28 p.m. at her residence in Lima, surrounded by loved ones.

Lora Belle was born in Lima, Ohio on December 22, 1930 to the union of William Lee and Katie (Burk) Ward; both parents preceded her in death.  To this union a son was born, Dana L. Houston, he was the Apple of Lora Bell's Eye.

In 1957 Lora was united in Holy matrimony to Benny Reese Houston.  When this union ended, Lora continued to dedicate her life to the service of the Lord.  She was a faithful member of Fourth Street Missionary Baptist Church, where she sang in the Choir and was on the decorating committee.

She retired from St. Rita's Medical Center after 43 years of service as a Histologist Tech.  She truly loved her job, she also loved reading.  Lora's recall for information was impeccable; she was called the family historian by some.

She leaves to cherish her precious memory a son; Dana L. Houston (Alicia).  2 grandchildren; Marquel A. (Tosha Jennings) Houston and Danajia G. Houston.  4 great grandchildren; Keegan A. Houston, Kerenza G. Houston, Marcel Jennings and Miracle Jennings.  A host nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Lora  was preceded in death by 3 brothers; Jimmie Lee Ward, James Howard "Pap" Ward and Herman Ward.  6 sisters; Emma Lou Ward Green, Pearlena Clemons, Elizabeth K. Griffith, Barbara J. Jones and Georgia M. Williams.

Home going services will be held on Thursday, January 20, 2022 at 12:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Jones-Clark Funeral Home, Inc. with Rev. Dr. Dennis Ward, officiating.

Visitation/Wake services will be held on Thursday, January 20, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. also at the Funeral Home.

Interment: Woodlawn Cemetery
