Mrs. Linda Diane Houston, age 80, passed from this life on Thursday, September 25, 2025, at approximately 8:58 p.m. in Lima, Ohio.

She was born on January 12, 1945 in Lima, Ohio to Stanley M. and Murdis (Hall) Scales.  Both her parents preceded her in death.

On April 4, 1969   she was united in holy matrimony to her beloved husband Mr. Leroy Houston who preceded her in death.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                     Mrs. Houston retired from the Allen County Health Department and then worked as a Direct Care Professional for Benchmark.  She was truly born-again on July 6, 1971 and was a member of Philippian Missionary Baptist Church.  She enjoyed Facebook, baking, reading and traveling.

She leaves to cherish her precious memory 2 sons; Robert Q. Houston, Sr. of Newark, Ohio and Aaron L. Houston of Columbus, Ohio. A step-daughter; Pastor Rohonda Houston of Indianapolis, IN.  6 granddaughters; Kortney (Courtney-husband) Walls, Lachiana Redmond, Mia Barnett, Alicia Bryant, Miaja Watkins  and Carhonda Redmond. 5 grandsons;  Ahmad Houston, Robert Q. Houston, Jr., Tony Smith , Amir  Houston and Devone Houston.  18 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. 3 brothers; Willie J. Scales, Jackie Scales and Eric Hall all of Lima.  5 sisters; Shirel Youngblood (Howard), Kaye Dilworth, Jill Scales, Lawreena Savage and Teresa Hall all of Lima. Many other loving grandchildren, step-children, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends who enriched her life.

She was preceded in death by 3 brothers; David Goins, Mike Scales and Ricky Scales.

Home Going Services will be held Thursday, October 2, 2025   at 12:00 p.m. at Philippian Missionary Baptist Church  with Rev. Dr. B. LaMont Monford, Sr., officiating.

Visitation/Wake will be held on Thursday, October 2, 2025   at 10 :00 a.m. until time of services also at the Church.

Interment:  Memorial Park Cemetery in Lima, Ohio
