Leonard Charles Jones, 84, of Xenia, Ohio, passed away peacefully on July 24, 2025. Born in Morgantown, WV, Leonard was a U.S. Army veteran and retired from AT&T after 34 years of service. He later drove school buses for Xenia and Beavercreek schools, a role he truly enjoyed.
Leonard loved fishing, sports, (especially the Reds, Bengals, and Ohio State Football) and was a faithful listener of 700 WLW. Known for his quiet wisdom, generous heart, and skillful hands, he made a lasting impact on all who knew him.
He is survived by his loving wife of 21 years, Theresa (Carr) Jones; daughters Cynthia (Jones) Meaux and Candice (Jones) Patrick (Todd); grandchildren Lionel Jones, Gregory Meaux II, and Gabriella Patrick; great-grandchildren Gregory Meaux III and Leander Meaux. Also surviving are his stepsons Shelton Ivey (Tracie), Andre' Ivey (Earnesta), and Leighton Sr. Ivey (Angie).
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
Services will be held on Wednesday, August 6, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Zion Baptist Church in Xenia, Ohio with Rev. Gary G. Chapman, officiating.
Visitation/wake will be held from 9:00 a.m. until time of services also at the Church. Family will be present at 10:00 a.m.
Interment will be Thursday, August 7, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at Dayton National Cemetery in Dayton, Ohio.
