Larry Hunter Long, age 96, passed on Monday, July 1, 2024, at 3:15 p.m. at Wyngate Nursing Home in Lima, Ohio. He was born on October 14,1927 to Andrew Long and Hattie (Irvin) Long, Sr.,  in Montgomery, Alabama. Both parents preceded him in death. On February 4, 1979, he was united in holy matrimony to Louise Spencer who preceded him in death.

Larry worked at General Motors Corporation as a Millwright. He was a member of Philippian Missionary Baptist Church where he served as a trustee.  Larry  was also a trustee at U.A.W. and was a former WM in the International Masons.  He was a veteran of the United States Army.

He leaves to cherish his memory, 1 son: Larry "Darnell" Long of Columbus, OH. 3 daughters: Hattie M. Long, Tina Hutchins, and Ruth A. (Rick) Yarbrough; all of Lima, OH. 12 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. A host of nieces, nephews and other family members and friends.

He is preceded in death by a son Gregory Long. 9 sisters and brothers: Mary Long; Roosevelt Long; Lillie Long; Isabelle Long; Sarah Long; Andrew Long; Reuben Long; Luvenia Long; and Johnny Long, Sr.

Home Going Services will be held on Friday, July 12, 2024, at 12:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Jones-Clark Funeral Home with Rev. Julius Boone Laws officiating.

Visitation will be held on Friday, July 12, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. also at the funeral home.

Interment: Memorial Park Mausoleum
