Mrs. Lacy Rugene Johnson, age 76, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 4, 2014 at approximately 11:43 p.m. at St. Rita's Medical Center. She was born on February 7, 1938 in Florence, Alabama to the union of Charlie V. and Wilma Rugene Pearson Barnett. Both parents preceded her in death. In 1965 she was united in holy matrimony to Mr. Lee Andrew Johnson, Sr. He preceded her in death. Mrs. Johnson was a homemaker and a member of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church. She loved people in every sense of life. She also loved cooking and carrying on good honest conversations. She leaves to cherish her precious memory 3 sons; Lee Andrew Johnson, Sr., (Fiancé – Sue) of Town Creek, AL. Kendall A. Johnson and Calvin R. Johnson (Kendra R.) both of Lima. 5 daughters; Brenda A. Watkins of Sheffield, AL. Sharon R. Busbee and Vickey L. Sargent (James) both of Florence, AL. Sherry C. Johnson and Josalyn M. Johnson both of Lima. 28 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren. 3 sisters; Edith Brannon (Herbert) of Florence, AL. Cordy V. Covington of Cincinnati, OH and Mary D. Cole of Atlanta, GA. 3 brothers; James L. Barnett (Ann) of Florence, AL. Samuel Barnett (JoAnn) of Upper Malboro, MD and Harry G. Barnett (Debra) of Atlanta, GA. 4 sisters-in-laws; Helen Summerhill, Martha Johnson and Shirley Johnson allof Florence, AL and Alice Jackson of Lima. She was preceded in death by a son; Titus B. Johnson, a sister; Christine Buchannan. 3 brothers; Charlie V. Barnett, Jr., Joe L. Barnett and Clarence E. Barnett. Services will be held on Saturday, November 15, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at the Chapel of Jones-Clark Funeral Home, Inc. with Rev. Teddy Barnett, officiating. Visitation/Wake will be held one hour prior to services at the Funeral Home on Saturday, November 15, 2014.
