Rev. King Joseph Beverly, age 83, passed from this life on Saturday, September 6, 2025 at approximately 5:58 p .m. at St. Rita's Medical Center in Lima, Ohio.
He was born on January 18, 1942 in Rutherford, Alabama to Howard and Mary Williams- Beverly, both his parents preceded him in death.
On December 26, 1964 he was united in holy matrimony to Gertha L. Williams, she preceded him in death on September 1, 2010.
Rev. Beverly retired from General Motors Corporation. He was a member of New Greater Grace Church and he was a member of the Black Ministerial Alliance.
Rev. Beverly leaves to cherish his precious memory a daughter; Shearon D. Beverly of Columbus, Ohio. 4 sons; Lindsay "Jack" Beverly of Lima, OH, Martin L. Beverly (Michelle) of Columbus, OH, Marvin D. Beverly of Lima, OH and Daryl Pitts of Atlanta, GA. 11 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. 2 sisters; Ruth Beverly of Brooklyn, N.Y. and Beverly L. (Jimmy) Brown of Eufala, AL. A host of cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Rev. Beverly was preceded in death by 3 sisters; Thelma Holmes, Helen Beverly and Bert Peterson. 4 brothers; Henry Battle, Ben Beverly, Jesse Beverly and David Watts.
Services will be held on Monday, September 15, 2025 at 12:00 p.m. at Philippian Missionary Baptist Church with Dr. B. LaMont Monford, Sr., officiating.
Visitation/wake will be held on Monday, September 15, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. until of services also at the Church.
Interment: Memorial Park Cemetery
