Kevin Eugene Grimes, 51, a recent resident of Ridgeway, OH, passed away on December 31,  2013.  He was the son of William and Bettie (Howell) Grimes, of Laguna Woods, CA.  He graduated in 1980 from Penncrest High School in Media, PA, and attended Temple University and Bowling Green State University.  Kevin spent most of his adult life in Bowling Green, OH.

Growing up, Kevin resided in Lima and Hudson, OH and Media, PA.  He had a love for music, playing in concert, jazz and marching bands in junior and senior high school.  He also had a love for sports, participating in football and track and field as well as  a great love for animals, particularly cats.

He was a quiet and unassuming person, who preferred life's "smaller" stage.  After his family had relocated to California, he sternly resisted following them saying kiddingly "I was there once and that was enough".

Kevin is survived by his son, Brian Olinger of Kettering, OH, his parents, William and Bettie, of Laguna Woods, CA,  his brother Clint and his sister-in-law Cheryl Grimes,  his nephews and niece, Justin, Nicholas, and Arianna of Lake Forest, CA, his aunts, Marjorie (Howell) Bayless, of Bellefontaine, OH, Gwendolyn (Howell) Adams, of Cleveland, OH, and Betty Howell of Urbana, OH,  and special cousins, Ed Ratleff, of Ridgeway, OH and Mike Howell, of North Lewisburg, OH, who assisted him when needed during the last several months of his life.

There will be a viewing from 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. on  Friday, January 10, 2014  and a celebration of life on Saturday, January 11, 2014,  at 11:00 a.m at Auburn Avenue Baptist Church, 216 E. Auburn Avenue, Bellefontaine, OH  A repast will follow the Saturday service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you make contributions to the Auburn Avenue Baptist Church or your favorite charity in honor of Kevin Eugene Grimes.
