Mrs. Julia Harris, age 86, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 2, 2014 at approximately 4:32 p.m. at Baton Rouge Health Services Community in Lima.
She was born on December 2, 1927 in Florence, Alabama to the union of Jerry and Eliza Brown Southern; her father and her mother Eliza Brown Southern Pearson preceded her in death.
On July 27, 1957 she was united in holy matrimony to Mr. Raymond Harris, who preceded her in death.
Mrs. Harris was a Licensed Practical Nurse and retired from Chicago Veterans Administration Hospital. She was a member Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church where she served on the Nurses Guild and the Missionary Board. She was also a member of Eastern Star in Chicago, IL.
She leaves to cherish her precious memory two children; Patricia Davis and Janice Brown both of Florence, AL. Two sisters; Sarah F. Southern and Nancy P. Brown both of Lima, Ohio. A host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by 3 brothers; Hunter Carroll, Delma Southern and Jerry Southern. Four sisters; Ruth Burch, Mary Lovelace, Christine Hall and Eliza Avery.
Home going services will be held on, Friday, October 10, 2014, at 12:00 p.m. at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, with Rev. Cleven Jones, officiating.
Visitation/Wake services will be held on Thursday, October 9, 2014 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. where the family will be present from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Jones-Clark Funeral Home, Inc.
Interment: Memorial Park Cemetery
