Obituary

Johnnie Mae Jacobs, age 89, passed from this life on Friday, February 23, 2018 at approximately 7:15 a.m. at Lima Convalescent Home in Lima.

She was born in Pittsview, Alabama on July 4, 1928 to the union of Dennis and Ida (Person) Upshaw, Sr.; both parents preceded her in death.

She was united in holy matrimony to Mr. Jimmie Jacobs, Sr., who preceded her death.

Mrs. Jacobs was a Homemaker who was loved by her family and will be truly missed.  She was a member of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church where she was President of the Mother's Board for many years.  She served on the Usher Board and many other roles throughout the church.

She leaves to cherish her precious memory 3 sons; Jimmie Jacobs, Jr., Thomas L. Jacobs and William J. Jacobs all of Lima.  2 daughters; Georgia Ann Seay (King) and Caroline Ford (J.C.) both of Lima.  10 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.  A host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by a stepson; Clifford Jacobs.  A sister; Ann Borom.  2 brothers; Dennis Upshaw and Walter Lee Upshaw.

Home Going services will be held Thursday,  March 1, 2018  at 12:00 p.m. at New Hope Missionary Baptist  Church with Rev. David Kelly, officiating.

Visitation/Wake will be held at 10:00 a.m. until time of services at 12:00 p.m. also at the Church.

Interment – Woodlawn Cemetery.
