Mr. John Hobart Mourning, age 94, a loving husband, devoted father, caring grandfather and friend of many went into the warm embrace of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, April 4, 2023. He was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana on March 5, 1929 to Hobart Mourning and Mary (Bowles) Mourning. Both parents preceded him in death.

John was united in holy matrimony to Lana J. (Jones) Mourning on September 23, 1961. His loving wife survives in Lima, OH.

John served his country in the United States Army from 1950-1952. He was a hard worker and continued his career after his time in the military. John worked for many years at the W.J. Noonan Co and later transitioned to Vistron (BP) where he worked until his retirement. He was an avid reader and loved crossword puzzles. His dedication to his family, his loving spirit and overall presence will be greatly missed by all who loved him.

Besides his devoted wife he leaves to cherish his precious memories a son, Mark (Geri) Mourning of Salem, OR; a daughter, Shari (Rick) O'Neal of Kansas; a sister in-law, Myrna Mourning of Denver, CO; 7 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren along with a host of other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his daughter, Regina Mourning-Saiz; a brother, Charles "Pete" Mourning and his "dog-boy", Toby.
