Mr. John Nelson "June" Thomas, Jr., in age 59, passed away on Wednesday, June 08, 2016 at approximately 6:02 a.m. at St. Rita's Medical Center in Lima.

He was born on June 24, 1956 in Lima, Ohio to the union of John Nelson and Annie Ruth (Brooks) Thomas, Sr.; both his parents are deceased.

On March 21, 2015 he was united in holy matrimony to Janice Clay who survives in Lima.

Mr. Thomas worked at Shelley Corporation.  He was a member of In Faith Ministries and a member of Laborers Union Local 329.   He attended Wilberforce University.  He loved to fish, bowl and referee AAU basketball as well as coach young basketball teams.  He always had a big smile for everyone and never met a stranger.  He was an avid Michigan Fan.

Besides his loving wife Janice he leaves to cherish his precious memory a daughter; Kendra Thomas of Lima.  2 sons;  Corey Thomas of Lima and Torey Thomas of Columbus, Ohio.  A stepson;  Rickie Clay of Lima.  2 step-daughters; Lasheana Buxton-Garrison of Lima, and Meagan Williamson (Terry) of Cincinnati, Ohio. 3 grandchildren and 8 step-grandchildren.  3 brothers;  Clarence L. Thomas, Anthony D. Thomas and Stevie Thomas (Amy) all of Lima.  3 sisters;  Shirley A. Upshaw, Michelle Thomas and Vickie Thomas all of Lima.  A step-brother;  Quincy People of Lima.  A uncle;  Charles Thomas (Lillie) and an aunt; Margaret Johnson (Dave) both of Lima.  A close friend;  Larry Gilcrease of Lima.

He was preceded in death by 3 sisters;  Brenda L. Thomas, Pamela K. Grant and Denise M. Thomas.
