Mr. Joe L. "Captain" Jones, Sr., age 77, passed from this life on Sunday, October 29, 2017 at approximately 1:42 a.m. at Lima Memorial Health Systems.

Mr. Jones was born on October 1, 1940 in Florence, Alabama to Jody Gilbert and Earlene Jones Turner both  parents preceded him in death.

On December 20, 1959 he was united in holy matrimony to Sylvia Walker Jones who survives in Lima.

Mr. Jones retired as an inspector at Phillips North America after years of service.  He loved watching football and listening to the Blues.

Besides his loving wife Sylvia he leaves to cherish his precious memory 2 sons; Joe L. Jones, Jr. and Jerry W. Jones both of Lima.  4 daughters; Crystal L. Jones-Kirkman, Karmen T. Hardy (Frank), Stephanie J. Jones and Temple K. Jones all of Lima.  14 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.  2 brothers; Luke Turner, Jr. and David W. Turner both of Lima. Sisters; Corinna Cunningham (Ira), Ruth Hamilton,    Glenda Foster and Anita Turner all of Lima.  A host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  A special group of partners; Jack Alexander, Glen Smith, Marcus Smith, Mike McQuay, Mike Walker and Joey Scales.

He was preceded in death by 3 daughters; a brother; Lester Jones and a sister; Deloyce Kirkman.  His step-father; Luke Turner, Sr.
