Mr. Jerry D. Boyd, age 76, passed away on December 4, 2015 at approximately 8:58 a.m. at the Orchards of Lima, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on May 19, 1939 in Iuka, Mississippi to Hamp B. and Henrietta Brown Boyd, Sr., both preceded him in death.

On January 21, 1978 he was married to L.C. (Nunnie) Chukes, she survives in Lima.

Jerry worked at Shawnee County Club for over 30 years and later retired from Rudolph Foods.  He loved his cars, especially Lincolns.  Jerry was a people person who never met a stranger.

Besides his loving wife, he leaves to cherish his precious memory a son; Howard (Mary) Simpson, Sr. of Florence, AL.  4 grandchildren; Lashannon, Howard, Jr., Whitney and Kiara.  6 great-grandchildren.  A sister; Mrs. Margaret Ann Hodges of Tishomingo, Mississippi.  A niece; Betty Cannon (Ralph) and nephew; Brandon Williams who were his caregivers. A host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by 4 brothers; Hamp Boyd, Jr., Willie T. Boyd, Eugene Boyd and Arthur Boyd.  3 sisters; Debbie Boyd, Betty Sullivan and Rosie Alexander.

Home going services will be held on Monday, December 14, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Jones-Clark Funeral Home, Inc.  with Rev. Dr. B. LaMont Monford, Sr., officiating.    J
