Obituary

James Robert Frazier, beloved son, brother, and friend, entered the world on April 9, 1991, in Modesto, California, bringing with him a bright spirit and a fiercely loving heart. He touched countless lives before his unexpected passing on February 13, 2026, at St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima, Ohio.

From the time he was a toddler, James was captivated by the world of sports, often sitting with his dad, Rodney, mesmerized by whatever game was on TV. That early fascination grew into a lifelong passion. As he got older, James became a true student of sports—always analyzing, always learning, and usually choosing his picks with his head rather than his heart. He proudly rooted for the Philadelphia Eagles, the Los Angeles Lakers, the New York Liberty, and the New York Yankees. Yet no team held his loyalty more than whichever one featured his hero, LeBron James. James followed LeBron’s journey with unwavering admiration, embracing every franchise his favorite player represented.

A graduate of Lakota East High School in West Chester, Ohio, James immersed himself in athletics through the Butler County Special Olympics and the Butler County Challenger Leagues. Whether he was competing in basketball, baseball, swimming, track and field, or football, sports were not just activities—they were the foundation of many of his closest friendships and a window into his competitive, joyful personality.

His sense of humor was one of his greatest gifts. When meeting someone new, his first question was always, “Who’s your team?” Once he heard the answer, the friendly teasing would begin — especially when talking sports with Mom and Dad about their Purdue fandom.

James leaves behind a family who cherished him deeply: his devoted parents, Rodney and Robin Frazier of Lima; his brothers Ryan, Jordan, and his twin brother, Justin, with whom he shared an irreplaceable bond and a lifetime of memories; his beloved grandmother, Margie Lewis of Cleveland, Ohio; his maternal aunts and uncles: Renee (Jerry) Kelly of Birmingham, AL; Rochele Terry of Montgomery, AL; Bobby (April) Terry Jr. of Fuquay Varina, NC; and Willie (Kathy) Terry III of Montgomery, AL. He is also survived by his great aunts Rose Duncan of Jamaica, NY, and Gladys Marfo of Columbus, OH; his great uncle Ernest (Carol) Terry of Augusta, GA; his paternal aunts and uncles: Jean McKee of Mayfield, OH; Terry Frazier of Austin, TX; Eulas (Margarette) Frazier Jr. of Cleveland, OH; Renee Glover of Columbus, OH; Karen Frazier of Euclid, OH; Rev. Dr. Tyrone (Sharon) Frazier of Livonia, MI; Renatta Swasey of Belleville, MI; and Harold Bullock of Severn, MD; along with Great Aunt Dorothy Bogan and a host of cousins and dear friends.

James was dedicated to the Lord as an infant and was baptized as a teenager by his paternal grandfather, Rev. Robert L. Terry. He now joins in peace the family members who passed before him—his maternal grandparents, Robert L. and Ruth S. Terry, and his paternal grandfather, Eulas Frazier, Sr, his uncles, Ernest Frazier, Reginald Frazier, Norman “Ray” Horn and Charles McKee.

To honor James’s life, visitation will be held at Jones Clark Funeral Chapel in Lima on Friday, February 27, 2026, from 4 PM to 8 PM. His Celebration of Life Service will follow at Gardendale Church of God on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at 10 AM.

As we gather in remembrance, we celebrate a young man who lived fully, loved deeply, and inspired others with his zest for life. James will be profoundly missed, yet his spirit will forever resonate in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
