Mr. James Boyd Bowers, age 83, passed from this life on Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at approximately 7:21 a.m. at St. Rita's Medical Center.

Mr. Bowers was born on January 17, 1931 in Clarksville, Tennessee to the union of Ulysses and Joanna Bowers, both parents preceded him in death.

Mr. Bowers was married to Nancy Henson Bowers who survives in Lima.  He worked as a carpenter and was a Veteran of the United States Army.

Besides his wife Nancy, he leaves to cherish his memory, four sons; Grant Bowers and Sammy Bowers both of Lima.  Hank Henson of Kokomo, IN and John K. Cruse of Indiana.   A daughter; Amy Jones-Green (Robert) of Pendleton, IN.  An adopted daughter:  Ann Forney of Frankfort, IN. Two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.    Two brothers; Estes Bowers of Forrest, IN and Paul Bowers of South Bend, IN.  A sister; Ruth Romestrup of Frankfort, IN.  A brother-in-law;  Rev. Louis Smith of Frankford, IN.  A special son;  Derry Glenn (Judy) of Lima.  A host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by a brother; Hugh L. Bowers and two sisters;  Mildred D. Smith and Judy A. Jones.
