Mrs. Ida Mae Smith, age 86, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 21, 2015 at approximately 9:24 a.m. at Lima Memorial Health Systems in Lima, Ohio.

She was born on Wednesday, November 14, 1928  in Shellmound, Mississippi to the union of Sam and Lillie Belle McMullen McGuire, both parents preceded her in death.

She was united in holy matrimony on March 14, 1952 to Mr. Wesley Smith, Sr. who preceded her in death on April 26, 1997.

Mrs. Smith was employed with various restaurants in Lima, Ohio and retired from Lost Creek Country Club on January 1st 1986.  She loved cooking and being with her children and grandchildren. She was a member of Eleventh Street Missionary Baptist Church where she served on the Mother's Board and the Usher's Board.

She leaves to cherish her precious memory 4 sons;   Willie D. McGuire (Jean), Tommie L. Smith (Tippica) and Ricky T. Smith all of Lima and Lonnie G. Smith of Phoenix, Arizona.  2 special sons; Terrell Simpson (Valeria) and George Bryant (Mya).  4 daughters; Mary E. Williams,    Geraldine Solomon, Patricia A. Wade (Robert) and Regina A. Smith all of Lima.  A special daughter; Vivian Taylor of Lima. 5 grandchildren she raised; Jennifer Shurelds (Scott), James L. Williams (Monique), Percy L. Williams, Nicole Mutcherson and Alexis Sanders. 18 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren and 3 great–great grandchildren.  A brother; John McGuire, Sr. of Lima and a sister; Classie Spivey of Drew, Mississippi.  A host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by 2 sons;  Larry Smith and Wesley Smith, Jr.  6 sisters;  Mariah Shedd, Sammy Spivey, Fannie Ester, Odessia Redd, Docia McGuire and Nettie B. Davenport.  A brother; Major McGuire.
