Obituary of Humphry D. Knight

Humphry D. Knight, age 63, passed away on Tuesday, March 19, 2024, at 2:32 p.m. at Kettering Hospital in Dayton, OH.  He was born on September 17, 1960, to Willie C. and Lorene (Simpson) Knight in Birmingham, AL.  Both parents preceded him in death.

Humphry was a self-employed mechanic.  He was a veteran of the United States Army.  He attended New Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church.  Humphry dearly loved his children.  He liked cars, fishing, horses, and dogs.

He leaves to cherish his memory:  4 sons:  Torrey Knight of Lima, OH; DeRaylon Knight of Toledo, OH; DeRayven Knight of Toledo, OH; and Tierre Manley of Lima, OH.  A daughter:  Courtney Decker of Lima, OH.  A special son:  Seaton Thompson of Lima, OH.  2 sisters:  Drucilla Anderson of Toledo, OH, and Paula Knight of Lima, OH.  4 brothers:  Timothy (Monica) Simpson of Lima, OH; Willie F. Knight of Lima, OH; Broderick (Julie) Knight of Lima, OH; and Rodney (Phyllis) Knight of Lima, OH.  A host of nieces, nephews, and other family members and friends.

He is preceded in death by a sister:  Vaistella Crumpton.

Home Going Services will be held on Thursday, March 28, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at New Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Arnold Manley officiating.

Visitation/Wake Services will be held on Thursday, March 28, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. also at the church.

Interment:  Woodlawn Cemetery
