Mrs. Harriet Sanders, age 76, passed from this life on Saturday, December 24, 2016 at approximately 9:18 p.m. at Lima Memorial Health Systems.

She was born on January 20, 1940 in Florence, Alabama to the union of Alex and Nellie (Johnson) Armstead, Sr., both parents preceded her in death.

In 1962 she was united in holy matrimony to Mr. Willie Lee Sanders who preceded her in death in 2003.

Mrs. Sanders retired from General Motors Corporation in Defiance, Ohio.  She was a member of Philippian Missionary Baptist Church and the U.A.W. Local #211.

She leaves to cherish her precious memory a son:  Marvin R. Sanders (Kristina) of Lima.  2 daughters:  Carmillia E. Sanders-Zion of Atlanta, GA and Demetra J. Sanders of Columbus, OH.  14 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.  11 brothers: James Gibson, Alex Armstead, Jr. (Betty), John Armstead (Mildred), Frank Koger Jr., (Sherry) all of Florence, AL.  Felix Armstead, Charles Armstead, Larry Koger (Monica), Kenneth Daniels and  Alexander Armstead (Sherry) all of Lima, OH.  Harrison Koger (Karen) of Douglasville, GA and Jerry Koger (Alfreda) of Aniston, AL.  6 sisters: Sazzie Thompson and Shirley Armstead-Berry (John) both of Florence, AL.  Annie Pearl Brown (Greg) of Lima, OH.  Brenda Robinson (Floyd) of Mapleton, GA.  Patricia Koger-Groves of Austell, GA and Janice Haney of Ft. Worth, TX.  An Aunt; Jennie Cole of Dellwood, IL.

She was preceded in death by a son, Michael A. Sanders and 2 sisters; Mattie M. Armstead- Goins and Cheryl Summerhill.

Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, December 30, 2016 at Philippian Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. B. LaMont  Monford, Sr., officiating.

Visitation/wake services will be held on Thursday, December 29, 2016 at the Chapel of Jones-Clark Funeral Home, Inc.  from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with the family present from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
